front leaf springs

hi fellas,

while i have the truck all apart i want to do something about the front springs. i got a quote from alcan leaf to build a custom set, it was steep but reasonable but the shipping was insane! so i said no to that route. my question is has anyone had any luck with the skyjacker 2" lift for our trucks? any pics of them and improvements in ride quality? do they come with the poly spring tip bushings and where is a good place to order them. or even if anyone knows of any custom spring shops closer to connecticut. i have 500 to play with

thanks in advance

Justin

Mine needs them bad. I was just going to take them to the local spring shop and tell em how I want them beefed up. I'm more worried about a tougher spring than how far it is lifted. I've hearrd good things about Skyjacker though.

I had the Skyjacker 1" leveling kit installed on my 1992 which included springs and shocks. Ride quality was MUCH better.

Also, as a side note never get anything big and heavy like that shipped via UPS or FedEx--they will bend you over a barrel on price. Instead, use a freight company to ship it via truck.

I installed the skyjacker 2.5" kit about four years ago, They said it would level out the truck. Well lets just say the front is still lower. I swear they sent me the wrong kit! The back springs didn't have the hole for the center bolt so i had to drill thru the springs. I wanted to put 33" tires on but the front still rubs. The springs has held up, so they make good springs! I just dont think i got the proper ones. On the other hand there shocks are junk! i have went thru three pair. Im going to try bilsteins next. Just make sure you get the right kit and you should be ok.
