Front crank seal Question

I had to install a wear sleeve on the front of my crank, the cummins kit has the plastic sleeve to install over the crank, the wear sleeve and the seal. No timing cover alignment tool or depth tool. Does anyone know if cummins has a seal kit with these things in it and if so a part number. Thanks again.

I read of a trick somewhere. You could buy a few slightly long bolts equal to the size of the front cover bolts, cut off the heads, thread them into the timing case and use them as dowels to keep the cover straight as you slip the seal over the crank. The front seal kit should have come with a driver which also sets the depth of the seal in the cover.

I know the standard seals come with the driver but this one with the wear sleeve did not, the box was factory sealed too. The dowel idea sounds like it will work good. Thanks.

Hi, I used the dowel pin deal, I just hand threaded some 5/16" stud, FINGER TIGHT, 2 around the seal area and 1 on top, by the IP.

Guys I am getting ready to install a front cover seal as well as the rear main seal this weekend. Can anyone chime in and tell me. I know the rear main seal gets installed dry, does the front cover seal also get installed dry? And I just purchased a seal from Napa and it came with the install tool and sleeve. Thank you
