Front Control Arms pop

Ever since I've own my 90 D-250, it has made a popping noise in the front when I hit a bump while the wheels are turned. Thinking since the truck is almost 20 years old & holding the weight of the Cummins engine, it may be time to put some new bushings in. May as well do upper & lower "A" arm bushing while I'm at it. Any pointers or what brand u all have worked well. Looking for alittle input on the project.

Look through the threads, there was a poor soul who had the same symptoms as you and his lower control arm mount broke off. It was scary looking! I know I went out and checked mine that day! Find out what is wrong. Ball joint failures are not uncommon, nor are they pretty.

Oh, and as far as suspension parts, MOOG. They are very spendy, but they are the only thing (in my opinon) that last.

If it's only at or close to full lock, it's just the wheel stops hitting each other. They are supposed to get greased at each service interval but nobody ever does it.

Yeah mine does that same thing. Like wanna said its probably just hitting the stops. I have greased mine before and the sound goes away for awhile. Just not the best design for a stop in my opinion.

I see. It only does it on the right side, no matter what direction u turn. I have done ball joints on the left side, but not the right yet. There aren't any grease fittings around the wheel stops, are there? First time I've ever heard of this.

You just have to smear the grease on the stops. There are no fittings.

No fittings, you're just supposed to gob grease on them. It's messy.

Mine are dry. I know what the noise is so it doesn't bother me.
