Fix your leaking, whistling door
Using the MFG part number . . . . . . . works. Who'da thunk?
Item Number Number = ZX267697 which gives us this ~ http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/S...searchbtn.y=15
A Side Note ~ I've read in the past some conversations where folks were seeing what they thought meant the "Kit" was more expensive than buying the individual parts. I found the "Kit" includes an additional part not available individually IIRC.
Well, looking at the packing slip, I gave you the catalog number. . . .. and you're right, it doesn't work in the search.

Thanks. That took me right to it. I'm in the process of priming/painting my mess and these will be a welcome addition. Now I'm waiting to see if they email me a promo code to get a discount.
Thanks again.

No, unfortunately the vent window is not included in the kit mentioned above and I don't know of a source for that. In my case, the vent window rubbery is in good shape. It's the window latch itself that's whacked. I've found that the shaft that the latch rotates on is substantially worn (cheap pot-metal) and will require replacement to fix. I've not done any homework regarding finding a replacement just yet.
I may be a mile off on my vision of what is worn out on your vent-latch; but, if it is the same piece that recently flew off into the darkness, off of the Cherokee, here is a possible source for replacement.
Stainless "carriage bolts" have a head that can pass for the chrome button on the outside of the vent-latch.
Some strategic drilling and filing should yield a passable latch shank that will not break.
The rubber on mine's in good shape. I need the dern latch thing. The shaft and such is worn to the point it can't pull far enough to seal the glass to the rubber. Dealer say "Sorry".
You might check out some of the chevy/dodge/ford classic suppliers.
They use to make a stud repair kit for that situation exactly. Mine, the weatherstriping has pulled loose in one spot-probabably someone forced it open when it was icy. I'll try and bond it back and let it go.
The rest of the weatherstripping kit looks like a good deal.

Great! Mine have been cracked and whistling for some time now. Its on the list now. I have to do the door hinges also along with some new front speakers. It will be an all in one deal I think for me. Thanks for the write up.
BC847,
I don't see any mention of replacing the inner belt weatherstrip in your nice right up.
Did your kit not include them ??
On Dodges, it seems the inner belt strip deteriorates about as quickly as the outer.
Another point to mention is that, when the outer belt weatherstrip gets worn until the metal shows, it will scratch the glass each time it is rolled up or down.
We have all seen those old truck windows with the deep vertical scratches caused by old worn weatherstrips.

There is an inner and an outer.
Maybe I missed something and will give the article another reading.
Thanks.

Wanna borrow my glasses?

- To complete the work with the window, we need to install the new weatherstripping. The reverse of removal, the weatherstrip mounting clips plug into the slots of the door. I started with that end at the vent window, and worked my way back. Remember to press the strip in toward the metal of the door as you press it downward. With that, I found firmly pressing the curved end of the strip into the rear corner had it seat nicely into the rubber flange of the Rear Channel. ~
