First time at the track

Well I took the old girl to the track today for the first time. Its was fun, but it was opening day so the track wasnt very good to start with, then it sprinkled a little through out the day so it was a bit slipery. I was happy with the truck, but it didnt get very good tration, I cant wait until next time.

Here's what I ran, 1/8 mile of course.......the track shrinks up here in the cold.

Reaction........0.82 _ 0.77 _0.779 _0.741
60............... 2.449 _2.452 _ 2.485 _ 2.273
330............. 6.933 _6.976 _ 6.877 _ 6.462
MPH........... 68.08 _68.6 _ 69.77 _ 70.31
Finish......... 10.574 _10.592 _10.413 _9.957

Oh and the main reason I went was to go against my professor in his 03'ish stock Duramax. He was impressed when I beat him, but he was in 2wd and couldnt launch either.

the 92, but I wish I had the big one set up the same. that would have been fun and six tires would have actually grabbed a hold.

are you going to put on a 16cm housing on or smaller and then run again? would be cool to know what the difference is in time just doing that.

I dont know what to do with the turbo. here's the issue

I have one more year of school.... then I should have money to play with so I am trying my best to keep it simple and low cost for now. Once I get out I will want some big clean sticks. I am going for engineering and want to be as efficient as I can, especially with everyone looking at my biodiesel thing and asking what it does to mileage and power. That and the option that I may go into energy management and it wouldnt look good if my truck had a constant haze.

So whatever I do before I go real big will have to swap over to upgrade my brothers truck for towing....so too small of a housing probably isn't a good option.... niether are POD's, so I am stuck.

What can I do for power upgrades that are low cost but can be used for heavy towing or still used when I go big.... are there stepping stones or do I just dive in when the time comes.

Anyways, on the short term side I am looking to get better tires for my next run, once I get traction and the driver errors fixed then I'll see whats next.

Looks like you were shifting pretty good then. What gear and how did you launch?

Those are some good times for your trim/tuning.

2nd gear

Not really sure how I launched, I am used to listening to the engine when I shift but all I could hear was queeling tires and exhaust, not sure if it was me or the guy behind me so as long as I was going straight it was pedal to the metal.

didnt try 3rd...not sure what that would have done.

Thanks,

If I had your time there would have been a lot of mad people in dinky little shinned up cars.

How do you like your 190's and HX35 ? do they run fairly clean if you want them too?

I currently run some DDP4's with the HX35 hybrid. As such it's a little smoky and a lot hot.

The 190's are in my opinion a good fit with the 35/40 hybrid. They do run clean without really trying.
