That is a pretty flat curve! Very nice!

Now I have a question. You were 701 or something close to that a few years ago with just W/M, right? I would expect 750-800hp actually with a "new" motor and nitrous....

I made 680hp using water meth back in 2005 then I had my pickup run away on a dyno and it hurt my motor. I added nitrous to make up the difference and it kept my numbers over 600hp. Then we built a new motor in 2010 which I thought I would see some bigger numbers too. I was kind of dissapointed until I watched the dyno video from Vegas. If you look at the tailpipe you will see that there is zero smoke. I am burning all of the fuel that my VE will put out so we modified the pump and made it up to 733. I think I can get some more with some more tuning, but how much I have no idea. If it was easy everyone would be doing it right??

Well when you spend 5 grand on parts and only gain 27hp it can be kind of disappointing that was at 707corrected hp so really I didnt gain much at all. Now that im at 733hp uncorrected it actually might be worth it.

WOW, wish I could say I was only $5k into this build.

$1650 pump
$1900 turbo
$950 injectors
$2000 clutch and overpriced install
$1000 Pistons and rebuild kit
$500 machine work

I refuse to add that all up. And I still wont be near your level.

Oh ok well let me clarify some things. Ok my bill was something like $4800 give or take which also included some parts for my 06.
For the 06:

Smarty, exhaust, intake, and an intake horn = $1500 or so that leaves $3300 for the motor build. (Pacbrake air bags for the 06 which Ponci gave me for my b-day so they were free.)
For the 93:

Machine work including cutting the pistons and balancing everything except the block. The motor was a 98 with about 40-60k on it so we used the pistons out of it, because we didn’t have time to break in brand new motor. A 181/210 cam valve springs, keepers, push tubes, tappets, probably a couple of other things. Gasket kit, rings, bearings, etc, etc. I made out like a bandit because I didn’t have to pay any labor for assembly and R&R. Of course I helped with everything from the build to the R&R of the motor. Ponci is one of my best friends so he just chalked it off to a sponsorship.

I also redid the Getrag $3000 which includes the cost of a new South Bend Duel Disk Clutch.

14mm pumps 3 of them maybe $1500 or so most of that was just parts because my other best friend Carl and his dad Joe owns Bradley’s Diesel injection Service.

Ok you want to go back to 04-05 somewhere around $30k which includes $7500 for paint and Line-X, $1500 for new wheels and tires, $4200-$4500 for a ported/polished/o-ringed head, my Dana 80 by the time I was done with it was right at $3000, injectors maybe $3000 (multiple sets), $600 bottom turbo, so that’s $21000. I have a complete breakdown, but I don’t know if I can find it let alone do I really want to know. Plus I have had this pickup since 1998 so all of the parts that I tried from 98-2004 that I tried only to take off and try something else. Thats just in those two years.

I’m not bragging because this is just ridicules. I don’t even drive it anymore. Is that going to keep me from putting even more money into probably not. Ponci and I have some pretty big plans in the works for it. Some of them will be ready before the faceoff between Jason and me on November 5th.

I may have bought my best friends but I know for a fact if I needed anything from either one of them they would do everything they could to help me.

Thats why your truck is so awesome, It's a build of love and not necessity. You could do whats already been done and swap to a P-pump to make big power, but you seem to love the first gen and have a need to see what its possibilities are. My daily driver is a 05' Dmax, and for what I put into the 1st gen, I could easily have had the Dmax running 11's. But I love the old first gens with the VE pump. Just one of those things you cant explain exactly why, but you just got to do it.

Good luck Nov 5th, I know you'll beat Jason, but I also hope you break 750 this time.

An open AFE on the street and nothing when I am on the dyno in case it runs away. That is why you see my buddy standing at the front of my pickup with a board in all of my videos. I had that happen once and I wont let it happen again. We would snuff the motor out if we ha too. I really need an air shutoff. Maybe we can get one of those on this winter with some of my other parts.
