Just turning the screw only gets you so far, the spring still takes over fueling from that screw. Trust me I had my screw in as far as possible without runaway and the spring made a huge difference.

You answered your own question why he's never put a spring in, he doesn't know what he's talking about!!! Regular pump guys know how to rebuild a pump to the factory stock specks, I haven't talked to one, except for the ones on here, that have done anything to make these pumps flow more or perform better.

Any bosch authorized service dealer should have the spring in stock, at least mine does.

my suggestion is to, if he is a bosch authorized dealer, take him the part number and tell him where to put the spring. If he's not go get the spring and tell him where to put it. If he doesn't know where to put the spring then tell him to really put the spring and the pump for that matter.lol

alright, well I will call the guy and tell him to do the 3200 rpm spring.

But what is PDR?
