finally getting some things fixed

Got a substantial (for me at least) Christmas bonus, so I am getting new headlight buckets and taillights for the Cummins and going to get the grill guard on, then getting the half-ton in and the transmission issues fixed.

I checked Napa, their chrome-trimmed taillights are $66 each. I can get a set off fleabay for that price. Guess where I am getting them?

Well, you haven't done your homework, son.... You can save another $10 each if you really shop around..

I put a new set in my truck and modified them to accept led's. Best upgrade I've done in a while.

The new lenses are superb, and work 100 x better than the originals.

I remember your mod. I am going to grab my wallet out of the truck and get a set of the tail lights on the way. One way or the other, I tried buying something off amazon one time and they said I needed to open an account.

Too many accounts and passwords to remember already. I think NAPA is going to get my business this time.

I was looking at a chainsaw on ebay, went to buy it since he has the price down just about reasonable, but he won't sell to me without a paypal account. Must be a bunch of people think like me than because he's got the saw listed for the third time, and has something like 97%+ rating on over 50,000 transactions.

Scot,

Amazon if superior when it comes to ordering, ease, security and confidence in purchase.

I spend $$$$$ per year with them, and I get free shipping to boot for just $79 a year. Ship 7 items, and you've made your money back.

Best site out there for just about anything you need.... although not always the least expensive... you still have to shop around.

It doesn't seem to be any better when it comes to actually finding the stuff, though.

Someone had a right chrome-trimmed tail light on fleabay, I asked if the had the left to go with it, and they replied that they would need to know my vehicle info to know. Some parts people they are. Some thinkers, too, since they already had a part number and know what it will fit for the other side.

When I deal on fleabay, I assume that the seller, and buyer for that matter, knows nothing. I ask every question, no matter how stupid, because when I don't, I get shafted. Also, I don't think that you have to join Amazon to buy there, they used to give you a choice. Amazon is very fast, easy and very easy to return items...Mark

When I went to check-out, they wanted my email and a password, and only had a check-box to allow for setting up an account and password.

They must have changed it, it has been a while. In my opinion, if there is anywhere on the interweb that you can safely put in an e-mail address, it's Amazon. They are like the Home depot of the web, the customer can do no wrong. Full disclosure, I an not an Amazon shareholder (if they are public), I have bought many things from them and many people on the web, and have never had any problems with Amazon. I also have a low limit Credit card that I use for web purposes, I figure if they get me, they ain't gettin' much...Mark

I ordered a set of black-trimmed tail lights and 4 red LEDs and pigtails from NAPA yesterday. They'll be in Tuesday. I'm going to put the LEDs in the top section of the housing like T-man did.

I'll have to get the headlight/signal parts online, but not sure quite if I want another account and password to remember or if I'll just get them offa fleabay

The low-limit card is a good idea, but I'd rather not ever have one again. I guess there are Visa gift cards.

I know what you mean, I didn't use any credit, of any kind, from my divorce in 1993 to about 2005. I noticed that my annual insurance bill was considerably higher and I called and found out that my credit rating had dropped below an adjustment point. I checked and found that the great credit that I thought I had was dropping for NON-USE. I got a low limit no fee card and I used it at least once a month, paying it off every month. Those people will do anything to dig into your wallet......Mark
