FINALLY!!! Bought a first gen where to start???

Ok I just got a first gen and need to now what to do next in the means of performance. As you can see in my sig the truck is already far from stock but what would be the next step for gaining some hp? It is going to be my daily driver and pull light loads every now and then, I would also like to be able to smoke ricers, powerstrokes and duramaxes every now and then (especially my moms 04 dmax!). Any help would be appriciated! Oh it also has gauges!

water/meth injection, bigger intercooler with 3inch tubes,a better fuel supply (if you still have the stock lines and pump), and a bigger turbo.

who makes those 70hp sticks and what is the hole size?

I agree. possibly a new fuel pin (BD, Ol'Smokey, or DennyT) and definitely a bigger turbo. Not a HX40 because you have a manual and are likely to bark it. IMHO I would go with an s300. And a p-lift pump.

Look in the sticky at the top of the 1st gen forum, it should tell you most of what you need to know.

Buy gauges first. Record the max readings of the gauges in the present set-up of the truck's performance and each time you make an add on or adjustment, record that, see if what you had done made any changes.

I'd say a better fuel system. I suck mine dry within a couple seconds of WOT. Once you can feed the pump with the fuel it needs bigger injectors and a bigger turbo. Which clutch do you have also, O, OFE, FE? With much more power and a Con-O you will need a better clutch.

Anyone know how much a Con-OFE will hold? 450whp I think. You'd probibly be safe with that if your not abusive on shifts and such.

leave the poor ricers alone, lol.

Get a 3200 rpm spring and a Denny T fuel pin. That will wake it up nicely for $125.

I'd get some gauges, then drive it for a while and establish some baseline readings. Then when you do your own mods you know the difference on your gauges and in the seat of your pants.

Good Day,
JP.

I kind of feel different than most of these guys(except gauges). I would go through the truck and start replacing old worn parts. leaf springs, shocks, steering, etc. If this is your main driver, make it drive nice. If you can afford it put on an exhaust brake.

I already have gauges in the truck and the only thing mechanically that needs to be done is possibly some front end repairs that I was aware of before the purchase. I believe the clutch is a ofe it already has gauges and a 3200 gov spring. So besides a fuel pin what fuel mods should be done Air dog and big line kit? For a turbo can I run my exsisting hx35 with a bigger turbo and do twins? Also would anyone recommend those new intakes they make for 1st gen I believe they are called coller tubes? Sorry about all the ????'s

they are cooler tubes and look great but wont net you any more power. Not till your over 500hp that is. If your looking into twins yes the 35 would be a good high pressure turbo.

I like the Snow Performance setup that I have.

I wouldn't do it for mileage, though.
