Running my truck on veg or waste motor oil and the cat 2 micron filter keeps gelling/waxing up. I'm running a water seperator then the 2 micron. using fleet gaurd 1-14 thread filters and 3/8 hose frome the lp piston pump to the filters and the to the pump. even wraping the 2 micro filter with a heater it still clogs. I would like to try a 10 micron filter to see if this will fix my cold weather problems.


Looking at baldwin filters are these any good? BF1258.

 

Baldwin are good, I use them. #2 next to Fleetguard, but I can just about get two Baldwins for the price of one Fleetguard locally. The lower the micron rating, the quicker it will clog. You might try some good ole #2 fuel with additive during the winter months.

 

Looks like the fs1000 is a 10 micron filter (or baldwin bf1259) so im going to try that with a heater on it and see what happens.

 

A real fuel heater would likely fix the problem.
