Few cool mods to share!
Here are a few mods I thought I would share to everybody. They are also in my gallery.
The holes above the bumper let air force its way to the air cleaner. Instead the filter sucking fresh air through the narrow air passage, the holes allow more than enough air to supply the filter.
Thanks guys for all the information you have shared to me since I joined.

I don't think the other mod short cut worked so here it is, just click.

I used a 1 /12" hole saw. I think I'm going to add two more later.
I'm also thinking about drilling two 3" in the bumper where the tag is located and mount a larger trans cooler behind the bumper and a remote transmission filter there also. The air coming through the bumper holes will supply enough coolant for the exchange.

I installed a ram air scoop below my bumper and plumbed it into the modified air box so it could be pressureized. Used 4" flex tubing, I picked up 5 PSI for free at freeway speed. My only concern in when I go through deep water I don't want to suck up water and lock the engine. The air scoop is made by Banks for their Ram air systems and was fairly cheap. Has anyone tried a scoop on a snorkle behind the cab like on a hummer or big rig?

I've done similar mods to alot of my past vehicles with air filters behind the bumper or in the fender.
On my little Honda Civic Autocross Car/Daily Driver that I traded for my Dodge I had three 1.5" holes drilled in the bottom part of the front bumper. Dunno if it helped or not, but the K&N never got any water during rain.
My old '88 Ranger 4x4 had a snorkel coming out the fender...that was cool.
My old Mustang GT 5.0 had aluminum dryer ducting from the front bumper up to the filter are with holes punched through it to keep water from getting to the filter. Eventually I stamped 3 louvers in the passenger fender like the old hot rods...looked cool.
On my truck I'm going to cut two 1"x3" rectangle slots, side by side, in the same place Tommy put his 3 holes. Gotta love the Dremel!

On my old 89 cheby 3500, I mounted a black gutter elbow under the bumber and ran a 4" flex up to the air filter on the 454. It really helped alot on highway gas mileage.
I love tinkering with trucks and making homemake devices to improve or think I'm improving the performance.
I'm also wanting to run a thermocouple to the rear end. I thought about drilling a hole through the drain plug or finding a temperature plug off a semi and adapt it to my rear end to read temps while towing.
Thanks guys,,,,,,,,,,Show me some your little mods!!
