A Few 366 Spring ?s

Hello, I just ordered the 366 spring for my 93. I was reading a bunch of info on the install and had a few ?s Should I order a reseal kit before I tear into it? If so where do I get one and can anyone help with the part #. Also it seems 1/2 the people take off the throttle lever and some don't. Does this need to be done? Does it make it an easier job if you do. I really don't want to have to mess with the indexing if I don't have to. Thanks in advance.

I guess you don't have to take the throttle lever off, probably just have to rotate it to get to the allen head. But I always take them off and clean everything up. Every stock throttle shaft I have ever done stock is 2 ticks and 4 ticks. So, I really don't know how it is messed up all the time. Just have a good light and you'll be good. If your pump isn't leaking, I wouldn't worry about it. But there is always that chance it could start leaking a week after you did the install the you kick urself in the butt for not doing it!!

i would suggest buying a reseal kit and replacing any o-ring you can in the pump top while you've got it off. any fuel injection shop should be able to get you the kit for around $16. P/N DGK-121. the indexing is fairly easy. just take note of how it's indexed before you take the linkage off of the throttle shaft. when it comes to reassembly, just be sure to index it the way it was before you removed it.

CLUCK CLUCK.

Its an inside joke. Good luck! Make sure you take out the fuel screw. I have heard to many ( I broke it ) when the screw was left in.

You'll need to shorten an allen wrench or use a ball ended one for that one screw.

I'd do it in combination with a timing bump. Loosen the pump first, rotate away from head (makes it alot easier to get the top off). Do the spring, reinstall pump top. Then, pull the pump over using the ratchet strap method.

Good luck and may the CLUCKS be with you!

Best advice is write down the indexing. After that re seal the pump top and throttle shaft if you can. I only did the pump top and now i periodically have a leak from the throttle shaft. A helping set of hands goes a long way when hooking the spring in. It's easy to do and very much worth the time it takes.
