Favorite 1st Gen Truck Color
Haven't done any with the digital yet. But I would like to replace the original seat with something. Does anyone know if the 2nd or 3rd gen seat will fit in a first gen? Another reason I did the conversion...wasn't enough leg room. I was able to gain about 2 inches once the back wall was removed. That and a 1 inch lift on the front side of the bench seat made it a lot more comfortable...but now the seats are wearing out. I'm sure the hard part is going to be finding a color that looks good with the stock gold.

Looks good. I did pretty much the same thing for sound proofing when I did the cab conversion and it really cut down on the noise. had a bit of a challenge finding carpet that matched...but got that done too. How is the painted vinyl holding up? I've always wondered if that worked or not. The seats sure look a lot more comfortable than the old bench. Will have to tackle that progect one of these days.

I was in Ruidoso, NM on vacation last summer and saw a retired first gen Forest Service truck at a firewood yard. Wasn't sure if it was a Cummins or not, but I sure would love to have one that mint green color.
I inherited my dads 93 CTD which I have been restoring. It was red with metallic silver. The cab and box were totally beat from hard work or two many Michigan road salt winters. I found a mint take off box from a 92' which is black and silver. I plan on painting the rest of the truck to match the box. Just got a cab from swapthang which will get repainted in the spring. along with the front clip. I ordered the buckstop bumpers in their gray hammertone and had the rims done in the same color locally.
I haven't seen another first gen with this gloss black, metallic silver combo. Pictures in my member's gallery.

LOL... I would like it much more if it were Diesel. I do like the Lime green paint. Looks good with that truck. There is another truck like his but white for sale here in BC. I believe it is also an 89. Friends keep asking me why I'm selling my truck, thinking it is mine.
Had another friend test drive it but it’s so low geared that it only goes 45?? Not sure why.
Hope all is well with you!
Tom
