I think the best factory color is the green tan combo.

I saw a 1st gen cummins a few weeks ago that was lifted nicely and fully restored with a nice new shinny mint forest service green pain job. Sounds funny at first, but actually that light mint green looked really cool.

Haven't seen any conversions in this thread so thought I would share mine. Purchased the truck from my mother-in-law after her husband pasted, so she didn't have to deal with it. Besides it only had 23k original miles. I really wanted an extended cab sooooo. I just built one.

Found a guy out of Cortez, CO that was building sleepers to convert the 2nd gens when they came out without an extended cab. Cut out the entire back of the cab with a plama tourch (what an awesome tool). Big rubber seal between the two (Cab and Sleeper), insulated and carpeted. Now there's plenty of room.

The running boards I custom built. Would like to put some nice wheels on her but still kind of like the original look.

Haven't done any with the digital yet. But I would like to replace the original seat with something. Does anyone know if the 2nd or 3rd gen seat will fit in a first gen? Another reason I did the conversion...wasn't enough leg room. I was able to gain about 2 inches once the back wall was removed. That and a 1 inch lift on the front side of the bench seat made it a lot more comfortable...but now the seats are wearing out. I'm sure the hard part is going to be finding a color that looks good with the stock gold.
