Factroy tachometer plug-in

I heva ealready tried searching for this, but I couldn't find a clear picture. Does anyone have a clear picture of the plug that the factory tachometer plugs into under the dash? I heard it can also be taped or something on the steering coloumn.

Thanks in advance.

You don't have one, it's a '92 and '93 thing.

There is a guy on 1stgen.org who had a non intercooled '91 and he said he had the factory plug in and "crank position sensor?" already on his truck.

He said it was hit and miss with the '91 year model trucks.

Do you have this plug/connector near your front valve cover?

So I can't hook up a factory tachometer to my truck?

The connector shown in that picture is what connects the crank position sensor wires to the harness. The factory tach uses the sensor to count the revolutions of the front pulley. Maybe someone can provide the Dodge part numbers of the sensor and the mounting bracket?

ya, my early 91 had a tach, with the crank sensor and all that jazz. if the tach wasnt there, the crank sensor wouldnt either.

even if you wire it up with the crank sensor, youre gonna need to change the balancer to one with the groove in it.

I've been talking to Isspro, and were going to find out if I can use one of their kits to wire up my factory tach.

OK now I've got to ask a question. I went to install a set of gauges in my truck last night. The tach is an ISSPRO that I bought used. Looks like it came off a non-IC truck since it came with a small bracket with 2 wires leading to it. There were few instructions so I didn't know where to mount this pickup. I mounted it by removing an oil pan bolt right below the harmonic balancer (bottom pulley) with the little black "pickup" pointed right at it and adjusted it until there was about 1/8" between it and the pulley. It was late so I couldn't play too much but I have no reading on the gauge.

What am I doing wrong?

You need the magnets that glue on the balencer. Isspro has them.
