Exhaust kit's????
Does anyone make a kit for these or is it something you have to fab up yourself? Every car or truck I've played with so far has had a strong backing in the aftermarket world. The first generation dodge seems not to.
you have to get really creative with your 1st gen, thats the fun about these old trucks, working on them is an adventure. A few places make some aftermarket parts that are good and some aren't so good and a lot of people make their own parts.
As for exhaust kits, a few companies have them, check source automotive, but Diamond Eye Performance just came out with a 4" exhaust for our trucks that is much cheaper than all the competitors even though i've heard the downpipes have been getting bent in from the front driveshaft if your front leaf springs are sagged.

This guy is great to deal with LINK
DIAMOND EYE is selling 4" turbo back exhaust for 1st gens for $275 shipped to your door.........$269 without muffler.
they're great kits. I've installled 3 on 2wd kits and they're nice
I installed a Diamond Eye kit on one of my 93's and it was only about a 2 hour job, sounds good and really dropped my EGT's, also all ready dented it right over the front axle, guess i need to call Alcan soon for some new front springs. I will be buying another Diamond Eye kit for my other 93. The Diamond eye kit fit alot better and easier to install then my MSRP 5" kit on my 99 did.

At crusing speed and driving around the Muffler that comes with the Diamond Eye setup is very quiet.
Put the pedal to the medal and it relieves a nice tone,
It's a great muffler for an extra $6

Lol I helped put two D eye Kits on Auto 4x4 ... Very quite compared to the 3 inch straight pipe , We have one with muffler and one with out both are quite. If you have spring sag you may want to look at adjusting your Diamond Eye Down Pipe as it will hit on the Front Dif pinion . Unless they changed it or give it a good whack and dent it . Reason being..... my own personal opinion. It may be hard on the turbo having the Impact from the Dif smacking the Down pipe .
We have Cut the down pipe and shortened it . We made it fit a bit better plus the Guy even put a heat shield back on I think there will be no standard in the shortening of the pipe due to how Hard a life the truck had . There is also Stan's Headers He makes A very sweet System Tad more pricey than buying From TV diesel

I'm gonna wait till after the hollidays and try to get me one of those 4'' kits. I'm not looking to make a sled puller but I want room to improve. I'm looking into a cold air intake and the little tweeks to the injection pump. My buddy here keeps telling me I need to look at a 60mm turbo. I don't know what size I need to be honest. One fella said that a 60mm is too big for stock injectors. I looked into those stage 2 injectors on the tydiesel site. Would I have to buy the injector and then the nozzle? I wanna hit my 20mpg goal and the go further.

Especially if you're going to tweak your pump. I can't remember what year your truck is, but the '89 to '91, (i.e. non- intercooled) trucks had a slightly bigger injector size than the IC'd trucks. Stock injectors will support enough fuel to make around 350hp, (on a good day!
) for the non-IC'd trucks, somewhere around 300hp for the IC'd. A 60mm compressor wheel is going to help with attaining that hp. It's funny though, it seems like the first 100 hp is easy, but the next 100 is a big step, and anything over that is a LEAP!

Another thing to remember, you're going to need more fuel to get to your 350-400hp goal. But in order to keep good milage you're going to have to use that fuel as sparingly as possible, and use every darn BTU stored in it.
And that would take more self-discipline than I've got!

Is it possible to have a 400hp truck that gets 20 mpg's? I don't know about that, but I think 17-18mpg's should be attainable. Might be better to ask the guys who have 400hp, unlike myself who has maybe 200...
