Women are like bad drugs, when you get hooked it's hard to get rid of the problem. Then like you it comes back to haunt ya. The old saying "wouldn't take a million for mine but wouldn't give ya a penny for another one" is edit-show me the money!! If your bill splitting is in writing don't be nice "raise immortal edit with your attorney" call everyday and ask what he has gotten done. Hmmmm been down this road sure brings back bad memories. Hope you learn something here like stay single lol. Good luck Greed 93.

Try to find out where they are going to auction the truck off or make the bank an offer on the truck and see if they will settle with you and still go after the ex for the balance!

quick story, I lent a guy my rims and tires of my new truck to put on the 92.. Well he got the truck repoed with my wheels and tires... So I bought the truck from the auction for 1500 bucks.. The bank wanted 2300 before it went to auction... So it is possible to go to the auction and buy it back for maybe even lesser than you owed... 7500 later the truck is better than new!!

The bank and repo guy did nothing wrong, just the ex who did not pay her note. The truck was voluntarily placed as collateral and this was one possible outcome on the the day it was signed over.

If you want the truck back, go to the bank loan officer and in a calm and rational manner see what it would take to buy your truck back. You may have to set up a note and make the payments yourself if you don't have any cash saved up. Depending on where the truck gets sold, you may not get a shot at buying it back.

My brother is a loan officer and people will not answer a letter or many letters, or answer the many phone calls about overdue payments, but tow away the car or truck and all of a sudden they can communicate. The repo is a last resort, but sometimes it is the only way to get someone's attention.

Take the ex to small claims court and get a judgement in case she comes into some money so you have a legal claim to it.

Good luck.

What comes around goes around. She'll get exactly what's coming to her. Sorry to hear about your truck.

They may also be able to come after you if the truck sells for less than the balance of the loan. If you/she owes $3500 and it hits the auto auction at $1500, they may be able to go after you/her for the $2000 balance. Many don't bother with that and write off the loss, but not always.

You may be able to settle for less than the full amount with the bank to buy it back with a loan as they will make money on the interest.

Your getting some good advice here. One thing that I was thinking is see if you can track down the truck, watch it and see where it is going to auction. Sometimes it is public auctions, but if it is a dealer auction, and you have the money find a small car dealer in the area and pay him to buy your truck back from the repo auction.

Good luck man,... That sucks,...

What I want to know is what kind of bank took your truck as collateral? Most banks won't even use tools, since they only bring "50cents to dollar".
