Exclamation engine won't shut off

I was getting ready to pull my truck today. I had advanved timing 1/8". Turned the fuel screw about 1/2 turn. I started truck, was driving it to the pulls. Stopped and tried a full throttle run. Now engine won't shut off. I tried pulling wire from solenoid. It stays running.

Use the manual shutdown lever on the side of the pump. With the extra fuel you probably tore the fuel shutdown solenoid.

I tried to use it by hand. It didn't do anything. I had to pull the after cooler boot off at intake and use a board. engine dosn't hang on the rpms, Runs fine.

When the fss goes bad it wont hang in the rpms it just wont shut off. Are you sure you were using the manual shutdown lever? I have necer heard of that not shutting the truck off. Maybe some one who knows more than me will chime in.

if im not mistaken (which i probably am) the shut down lever is on splines... if they are off one spline i could see enough fuel getting by to keep the engine running.

Did you have remove any part of your fss to install the shut off cable?

well kind of... i took the plunger and spring out just so i knew the key would never work and the plunger wouldnt rip again and leave rubber in my pump. i like consistency. you dont NEED to do anything to use the shut down lever on the side of the pump.

There's an adjustment screw that stops the lever, that may be turned in too far.

pull the solenoid out and put the plunger in the grinder and grind the rubber down til you can see the metal, buff the edges so they are round and put it back in. I did this and mine is still shuttin down. Its in the sticky. It wasn't that bad to do as i thought it'd be.

You called it right. I just had to adjust the stop screw. Pull cable installed. Works great thanks for the tip.
