engine wont rev freely...
when engine is warmed up and i step on it a little bit to bring the RPMs up it stumbles and misses. is this normal for these VE motors? is it a timing issue? when i start it after being warmed up, it starts with the smallest bump of the starter, so i figure the timing is not advanced any. (isnt that correct, that advanced timing is a little harder to start?) tell me what you guys think.
thanks, Pat
thanks, Pat
Advanced timing is easier to start (which is why the cold starting aid, or KSB, advances the timing).
I don't have any dead spot bringing my truck up off the idel governor -- not sure what is causing your problem. I would try running some fuel additive (I like stanadyne) through it and see if that helps. If you are already running additive regularly

i will replace the fuel filter and possibly replace the lift pump since it's not suppose to be that expensive. well, if advanced timing makes it easier to start i am led to believe my timing is advanced enough...i am also persuaded by the 21mpg on a 750 miles trip. thanks for the help.
