Engine and Transmission mount replacement
Engine and Transmission mount replacement
Hi,
It has been a while since I have been on this forum. A heart attack and quad bypass took me down for a bit.
Well, I get to add to the problem...Friday morning, I rear ended an older Ford E250. On I-30. Heavy rain, and truck slid instead of stopping. Ugh.
Anyway, bumper got bent up, and so did the lower parts of the front fenders. Fan did contact the radiator and destroyed it. I noticed the engine and transmission mounts are also gone.
My questions are, how to remove the tranny mount from the old G360. Also any tips on what to use to raise the engine to replace those mounts. I used a floor jack and a length of 4x4 when I changed out the mounts on my old MB.
Thanks!

Well, I replaced the engine and tranny mounts. Tranny mount is a different set up than I am used to. Everything lined up without issue. Waiting on the replacement fan.
I cannot believe no one replied this time. Oh well.

Glad your health issue have been sorted out. Didn't see this thread until today....it's not a bad job to get all those mounts replaced, just have to be careful when jacking the motor up that the fan does not hit the shroud and break it, I like to remove the shroud myslef. But since your fan too out your rad and stuff I'm guessing that was not much of a concern...

Thanks, Cows! The shroud was a pain, as the replacement fan had the blades rubbing the top and bottom of the shroud. I fixed it by removing a little of the bottom, and stair stepping the top part by cutting and using 1/8 thick by 2 inch wide aluminum, and some tap and die work. Now all clear and running great. Just need to save some coin to replace the bumper and fenders.
