Engine temp

How hot is too hot for the cummins? Today I got mine up to 215 degrees is that too hot?

It had to be close cause I was checking the temp at the thermostat housing with a infared temp gun. The highest reading I saw was 215 but the gauge was higher at one point than it was when I took the reading.

If it's not making any funny noises or blowing a lot of smoke out the breather then it's fine.
