More info would help , where did the air come from , did you just do some work on it , or what tells you you have air in the cooling system ?
Until then , what you can try is put the front wheels high , like on ramps for working under or a steep hill , I bought a large funnel with adapters to go on rad fill neck , from one of the tool trucks .
With the truck tilled front end up , turn on defroster , and run at 1,300 RPMs , what you need to do is get the thermostat to open [ but there is spouse to be a bypass to help in this ] , but this should be done in a warm area , either inside or out .
With out more info , you may have some other issue .

Yeah. Run the truck with the radiator cap off and let the thermostat open and "burp" out all that air.

im not sure where the air is coming from, bout a month ago we were hauling a tractor on the gooseneck an the top rad hose blew out, while we had it off i got a bottom hose for it also. we drained the system an flushed it out, then put all new antifreeze and hoses. the next day it start heating up so i calld around an ppl said it was either the thermostat or waterpump so since it had not had either n a long time i put both brand new on it. neither part helped so i pulled out the plug that sits over the thermo. an air just rolled out for but 20 sec. then i drove it all day an had no more problem. i put a plug with a bicycle vavle in the plug place so it would be easy to bleed, every morin wen i drive it i have to dive it around the farm or the road until the gauge inside goes to the second mark then i pop the hood let the air out the vavle an can drive it all day with no problem. but after its bleed the gauge flucates on the right an left side of the first mark for 5 or 6 times then it settles down on the mark, a new head gasket was put on about a year an half ago an no bubbles come up in the over flow tank

You may have any number of issues and need some diagnostics , someone or some tools you may not have .
Could be that its a cheap thermostat [ known for not working in the Cummins ] , some have put in upside down , or left out the seal that goes in with it , but that is usually a lack of heat not air .
Then testing the air bubbles to look for combustion gases [ head gasket , or cracks ] .
These engines have bypasses so this should not happen without some other problem .

Maybe you could take out the pipe plug on the thermostat housing
and install a reducing bushing and a radiator type petcock valve
to vent the trapped air.

i did the comb. gas test in the coolant 2day and it was fine, i tried to bleed it an get the air out, then i drove it and it pushed the coolant out of the over flow tank so does this mean i had to much an i thought it couldve been that the thermostat wasnt opening so i boiled a pot of water to 180 and put the thermostat in an it opened fine so does anyone know of anything else

Sorry to say, sounds like the head gasket. Thats exactly what mine did. Quick way to check, pull off your belt, pull the water plug by the thermostat. If theres bubbles coming without the water pump hooked up, your in for some fun.

I've drained and filled the cooling system on many of these trucks, and to bleed I've always just removed that plug by the thermostat, and never had an issue. It sure seems to me that you must have an internal problem that's putting air into the system, like a blown head gasket. I can't think of another reason besides a thermostat or rad cap problem.

Just for a minute.
My coolant guage started taking longer to sway back to the "normal" running area, then just overheated.
Pulled the plug, belt, and it was bubbling. Any air getting to the water while running without the water pump is combustion leak.

The only way to push the coolant out is a combustion leak. It doesnt take much.

What these guys said above, get the head pressure checked.
Non i/c heads crack between the injector hole and valve. And if you get the head decked, get a thicker head gasket.

well men i think ive found my problem, i pulld a vaccum on the coolant system and it wouldn't pull\ all the way down an the radiator would make a winding noise, so i took it to a local rad. shop and the man told me he could not fix it b/c it a over 100 pin holes n it which would suck air in but not let the coolant out, wher a good place to buy a raditor thanks
