What temps are you seeing? Also, what size turbine housing are you running?

It would be nice to know what sort of temps and boost numbers you're running. Maybe you have a hole in a rubber boot on the pressure side of your intake. Maybe a hole in the intercooler. Both of those will result in higher-than-you-want EGTs.

For now, you can back out the fuel screw a turn or so. Less fuel = less heat. And yes, what size exhaust housing do you have? A larger housing will allow more air through and you'll see lower temps. Or you can rotate your fuel pin so that it is using a less aggresive profile...less fuel = less heat.

Or go the way the big boys do: Water Meth Injection.

If you are seeing 1050*F you're ok to go...just watch your water temps is all....if they start to climb then ease back out.
You may find that the AFC cone is the culprit for you. Normally when the cone is ground you don't have too much left that could be called the "lean or min." side...if you do, then rotate that first and try it.
What you will find is it will reduce the rate of fueling increase per pound of boost...not so much the amount but the RATE that fueling increases.
Since you have the big housing you'll want to reduce that part of the equation...at least that's my thinking anyway....
BTW, the higher up you go (altitude) the more smoke an heat with less work for the effort due to the housing.

pb....
