You want some insane egt #`s? I have a friend who owns an import (read rice) performance shop. His personal ride is a Mitsubishi 3000gt, 3.0L twin turbo, it has made a tick over 800 (yes ...eight hundred) hp at the wheels on his AWD Dynojet. I was just talking to him this past tuesday and we got to talking about egt`s, I said to him "what do you see for egt`s, around a 1000?" he replied, "what a 1000 celsius?" Long story short he can`t use a farenheight gauge, dont go high enuff, he says at full tilt it`ll bury an 1800 deg F gauge...INSANE stuff! We got into some pretty tech heavy talk about about egt #`s versus timing versus cyl pressure, very neat stuff, but thats for another post.

I watched a brand new gasser get on a dyno out at BD one day....the EGT's pegged 1800*F and the header was literally white hot...you could honestly see the exhaust flow in the header tubes....absolutely daft if ya ask me..

As for 1800*F pegged....I can honestly say that I'm a member of that club.
When we did our second PDR 1st Gen open house I was testing some different parts/settings etc in the weeks leading up to it....
On a number of consecutive runs on the dyno, loaded down, a hybrid HX50/15 took me straight up to 1800*F pegged and literally stuck there solid during the tests that ran for a full twenty seconds.
I was running about 48'ish psi boost and the RPM's were up there.....spooky man...spooky..
It was on those runs that I turned in 373.4 (?) HP..... I really needed more air in a bad way. In fact, I'm still in that boat today...this ole VE can still spike my pyro in an instant if I run out of valet and fuel screw in about another 3/4 turn...and that's still about 1 full turn from "bottom out" to.

pb....praise the Church and pass the head gasket...
