EGT Question

OK, I may have found my truck. Here's my dilema - I'm supposed to be leaving for holidays next week and if this deal goes through I won't have the truck until Monday. I would like to put a little more oomf into the truck as it is a sluggish auto unit. I won't be towing my Jeep, but hopefully a slide-in camper - about 2000lbs. Could I get away without gauges for now if I just put in my Bully Dog fuel pin and BHAF (NO pump tweaks) until I get time to install the gauges? Otherwise, it's camping in a tent and taking the 1/2 ton.

As long as your not adding fuel you'll be fine without gauges.

With that said I think you'd be fine with just the pin as long as you keep your rpms up and don't lug the engine, but seeing as how its an auto and i'm sure stock I don't think you'd be able to do that if you tried. lol

extra power =extra heat, eng., and aspesualy tranny temp,,, if you do deside to mod w/out guages do as apwatson50 sugest and keep the rpms up and the foot in it as little as possible.

The no gauges would only be temporary - this is only due to a major time crunch before I leave for a week. I would have time when I get back.

IMO you will be fine with the pin and bhaf without worry as long as the pump has never been touched before

The pump looks to be untouched - no marks on the smoke screw cap and the collar is still on the fuel screw.
