Egt
After installing a pyro and boost the other day, i tweaked my pump a bit. i couldnt help but notice how the EGT's skyrocketed as i accelerate so i turned it back a little. What i was wondering is how do some of you guys bottom out your screws, and add other mods, and still keep the EGT's safe. I would really like to turn my pump up more, so i can beat my buddy who has a chipped 24 valve, but i dont know how to keep the EGT down.
any suggestions

If you could be more specific than "... I tweaked my pump...."
In general terms... air intake issues, turbo/housing(s) selection, various pump adjustments and sequencing, pump timing, and other things will dramatically effect your HP and EGT's.
Fill us in a bit more....

Having an older truck with larger injectors than the 91.5 + trucks makes you a little more sensitive to pump tweaks than later models.
Turning up the fuel will really raise the EGT's at lower rpms . . . you might be able to get away with hotter pump settings if you wind it out a little more.
A bigger turbo and an aftercooler are the big guns for the problem, though.

Ported aftercooler, full porting on the head, exhaust manifold, intake elblow, intake horn, turbo etc...
Bigger turbo, meth/water injection... there is lots of stuff!!!
You gotta remember, fuel+air=power. And: fuel+lots of air=COOL power.

Im not quite sure how much the pump is tweaked i believe it is only one to one and a half past stock, we turned it up a little past that, and the power was awesome, but the egts were way up. other than the exhaust and gauges, it is pretty much stock. the hard part for me is getting the money for the intercooler, otherwise i would have one already. that is about all i can tell you, because that is all i know. the truck was stock for the first 13 years of its life(that is when my dad owned it) then he gave it to me earlier last year, and i have started the metamorphosis.
