EGR Rear disc brake conversion

I was looking for some steel braided brake lines and found Circle Track supply here on DTR.
Yes they have kits, but while there why not look at what else they have and I found that they sell a full rear disc conversion kit that doesn't require welding

Anyone ever install one?
Looks pretty legit.

I have that conversion. There is no welding except the tab where the brake lines connect together. It is not cheap but worth every dime. No more removal of the axle in order to work on the brakes. I used the Cadilac El Dorado calipers with parking brakes. The P-brakes are somewhat confusing to adjust, but here is a thread on how to do it:

One of the best moves I have made...Mark

I worked at Cad-L Motors in Houston for several years...I got a lot of new permanent customers because other mechanics in Houston just did not know how to do this...The problem originates because all these Eldos were automatic transmission equipped, and people simply got out of the habit of setting the brake when they park...Using the brake prevents a lot of the varnish-like material inside the cylinder from building up and seizing the ratchet mechanism...Fixing it is a piece of cake if you have a 14mm crowsfoot and a few other basic tools...The caliper itself is a good, functional unit that should work well in this application...Just use it when you park, and you'll have no problems...

Remembering back, some of the drivers of the old Eldos quit using the e-brake because the automatic release which released the brake as the transmission selector went into any gear sometimes quit working and they didn't know how to use the manual release...It was vacuum operated and usually fixed with a 6 inch piece of vacuum tubing...The victims who couldn't release the brake ended up having the car towed to me to fix, and were afraid to use the brake again, hence the subsequent stuck caliper at the next state inspection......Ben

Yeah, they are definitely a different animal. I once posted on a different forum that one needs to use the p-brake in order to adjust the brakes. I was flooded with "calipers are self adjusting" comments from people that didn't know anything about these calipers. Once you get them adjustment right, like I said, these will stall the Cummins. Once I had them adjusted, I haven't touched them since...Mark
