Someone once told me the best way to drag race a 5spd cummins is to launch in 3rd and get to 5th as soon as possible and use the torque.

For drag racing maybe Southbend could custom make you something if you want a all around beater clutch. I wonder if a 3250 # DD would be aight?

"pwrtripls" bought a 3250 DD clutch for his 92 i believe, havent seen him in forever. He was huntin for 12's inthe 1/4 with a 5speed truck

 

and GLHS runs that fast at about 6,000 feet not sea level

 

valair is hooking me up with the strongest single they make for half the price of south bend so i'm still giving them a 2nd chance. its rated for 600hp 1100ft lbs. and i won't be anywhere near that fast lol i just want to beat my dads mustang haha

 

If you could start in 3rd it sure would help drag times. That 2nd to 3rd shift is not easy to hurry.

 

ya ill have to try it once i get my big boy clutch lol with the one i have i wouldn't even move if i tryed launching in 3rd
