dually gearing and tow pkg

while im at I want to ask, what seemed to be the norm for a 93 350 4x4 dually? why build a HD truck with no HD trans cooler? also I have 3.54 gears, was this normal? It seems every 1 ton has 4.10s ?

Probabaly the same reason they don't put the lim slip additive in the new trucks, without asking.

Guys with new trucks have complained about DC not putting in the required limited slip additive in the rear. If they tow and do not add this on their own, they risk burning up the rear, and no waaranty. All to save DC a buck.

My 1 ton has 3.54's. The standard trans cooler on the diesels is pretty effective, it's much beefier than the one inside the radiator on a gasser. It's actually very similar to what medium duty trucks with automatic transmissions run.

My 93 has a cooler on the engine and a large fan cooled cooler mounted on the frame behind the cab. It is NHBS code on the line sheet. Maybe whoever ordered your truck didn't want to spend the x-tra bucks for the aux. cooler. I haven't seen my trans. temp go over 185 degrees yet even with a weak convertor.Same truck as yours 93 w350 4x4 with 3.54's
