Good mod Gadget, ... my clips have held so far, but next time I'm in there I'll do the lockwire upgrade. Jimbo it seems a shame to replace such good-looking shoes and springs, but also I see your point in view of the work it takes to get in there. Also the double-nut system is much more convincing than the tiny piece of shrapnel whacked into the nylock and groove. Again "next time I'm in there", ..

On a brighter note, I picked up the bed on Saturday. I was also able to get the front bed mounts from each frame rail. That will make mounting very easy!

Figures, someone a lot closer has some! I'd hate to buy a bed in great shape that I would end up cutting. Someone else would come along needing one or 3 at some point. Since I plan on these mods and this bed was just days away from a trip to the scrap yard, it's definitely worth the $100 for what I have planned. It was hard to say no to that deal!

Thanks for the offer though!

Anyone spot that dually bed...with no fenders..on e-bay for $50. Looks like a nice rust free unit. Can't recall where it was located though, but it was a pick up only.

Looking good so far Jimbo.
