With the way the shocks are mounted on a 1st gen, I doubt a 2nd gen dual kit would fit. It might though.

IMO duals don't sound the best on a Cummins.

I have dual 3" on my dodge that Brunelle Tire Factory bent for me for $300 and it sounds great, i'm going to hopefully be adding a 5" downpipe and running 5" all the way to the duals. After buying the materials and fabbing the pipe i think my entire system will be about $450 which i don't think is to bad...

90ctd- if you go have dual 3s now, you will be choking a single 5". You must figure the cross sectional area of the pipe, not diameter. So, pi(r-squared) gives us:

DUAL 3"- (3.14 x 1.5 x 1.5) x 2= 14.13sq in total area.

SINGLE 5- (3.14x 2.5x2.5) = 19.625 sq in total area. Going from 5" to dual 3s gives you a 28% reduction in total area.

My thinking on dual exhaust is- it's fine for V8s with no turbo. When you stuff it all through a turbo, with one outlet, you defeat the purpose of duals. Going with a bigger single is easier. I havent seen too many dual exhaust systems that were even several years later- one alwys leans to one side or another.
