DTT toruqe converter problems?

I think I'm having torque converter problems, It has a DTT in it. my truck runs fine until I get past 18 lbs of boost. From 18-28lbs (my max) of boost the tranny just slips like its not sending the power from the engine to the tranny to the wheels! Tranny has low low low miles on it after a fresh rebuild from the best diesel trans shop around. Does it sound like something is wrong with my torque converter, or some other part of my transmission, gotta get this fixed before the 4th of December as I'm hauling a lot from PA to VA, then VA to PA and if i cant do it I'm in breech of US government contract

Frankly I don't know how a torque converter can screw-up internally without being readily noticed (Hey man! Is your truck on fire! kinda thing).

Else, something's up with the trans. You mention boost numbers. To me that suggests it works just fine with a small amount of power through it. Raise the power level, and something's slipping.

Check the fluid to see if it's still pristine. If it has a hint of burnt smell, or cloudy. . . .. . .

If you've the time, drop the trans pan and see if there's any "Stuff" in the pan. . . . .. . like clutch stuff.

--> But before you do any of that, make durn sure the TV cable is properly set. If it's set too far to one extreme, the trans will most likely slip with increasing power as well as possibly be shifting too early. If set too far to the other extreme, the gear shifts will be late and possibly engaging hard.

Ain't got time to mess with it? Have the trans shop check it (warranty?).

Hope this helps.

If it is "slipping" it might be the clutch packs in the tranny, not the TC.

I'd drain the transmission oil and change the filter. Check for clutch friction material in the oil and filter.

That's what I'd try.

Good luck,
JP.

Take it back the the best trans shop around and see how they stand behind their work. It's not the TC sounds like the trans is slipping to me.
