My driver's door latch mechanism has been getting worse and worse for quite a while now. The closing/latching effort is quite high. Yesterday, it had the nerve to bounce back time after time when trying to close it! I took the liberty of spraying the exposed parts with some lube. It helped a little. But it needs more. Anybody know if there's a good fix? Or do I need to start scouring the junk yards again. Thought maybe if I took it out of the door and cleaned it up, lubed it real good, that might work.

 

just get new door latches, and shut your truck off with your doors shut, it'll litterally rattle your truck apart!!!

 

Yep, gotta get a new latch. And the driver's side is about $15 more than the passenger side.

 

Ok. Thanks guys. I assume this is a dealer item? I found them listed at parts.com for $106. Is that in the ballpark (since today is opening day at Coors field!)?

 

I paid around $75 but that was a couple years ago.
