Drive train mounting measurement (levelness)

I put a nv4500 in last weekend and I have to modify the transmission mount on the cross member. Does anyone know what to reference when deciding the levelness of the engine and trans on the motor mounts? On a gasser the air plenum has to be level but I don’t know what to reference on my diesel engine. I don’t want to have it pan caking my motor mounts and causing excessive wear.

Maybe this is not right, but I would probably look at centering the fan to the shroud. Might give at least a starting point. Just my 0.02....
