Doors...

I am wondering what the process is to fix the sagging doors, having the truck only a week the first fix has to be the hinges, I can not stand having to slam the door to get it closed. I looked back in the posts and there is talk of a hinge pin kit, where can I get it and how involved is the process. Also the power locks are funky, sometimes locking too much? meaning the key sometimes does not open it so I have to go to the other side to open. If you guys can give me any advice on any of this it would be a great help...
Thanks in advance..
p ???

Re:Doors...

Make sure to check hinges for wear. A pin kit might or might not fix the doors. As far as the lock take the molding off of the inside of the door and see if the pin for the door lock is working properly.

Re:Doors...

I replaced my hinge pin bushings with the set that you can get at any local parts store. I believe it was the HELP brand. (no pun intended). They worked real good for about a month and now they are out as well.

Re:Doors...
Unless the upper hinge pin has worn through the bushing and worn the hinge hole bad enough the new bushing won't fit properly there is no need to remove or replace the hinge itself.

I replaced mine not too long ago using the "help" replacements. The only thing I found was that the new bronze bushings fit a little loose in the holes in the hinge. A little JB weld around the bushing took care of that.

Be sure to grease the pins and the spring on the lower hinge.

Jay

Re:Doors...

Thanks for all the help.
I saw some guy was offering, I believe, hardened solid hinge pins and brass bushings on eBay for 94's and up. Have you guys seen any for our trucks, it seems there should be something out there and it has to be better than the hollow kind that I have seen.
Paul
