Awesome idea. My only change to what you said, is that I will use the screws in the valley sections of the panel, and screw them all the way down, as you said, but They will remain for future use.

Finally got around to welding a flange on the floor cut out of the bed of the brick.
Driving around with a gaping hole in there is good when you need to make sure you're still not leaking (which it's currently not), but I won't be 100% sure for a while longer, or I replace it with another unit. Heat gun easily removes bed coatings when heating the metal from below.
Eventually, I'll drop the panel off at the linex dealer, and have them shoot the top so it's close to the same height as the rest of the bed. The fasteners are all in the valley areas, so I can still have pallets slid in when necessary.
