do i need big fuel lines?

I got a THD max fuel pump, which is just the 3200(?) gov spring and their fuel pin. im upgrading to the piston lift pump from THD. i cant find clips that work on my quick connects at the tank and i think the quick connects may be broken. so with all that said can i just get some 3/8" line and clamp it on for the line out and return? or do i have to go through the trouble of upgrading the whole thing? I'm not planning anymore power upgrades (stock injectors and turbo), right now my main concern is getting it to stop better so i would rather spend the time, effort and money on brake upgrades.
sorry if this has been asked before but i searched and didnt find anything. all help appreciated.

With the power you are looking to make, I do not see the need to use larger than stock fuel lines.

If need be, yes you can clamp new diesel rated fuel lines right to the nipples on the "fuel sender".

And make sure you clamp it well enough to avoid sucking in any air!

Tight enough that it doesn't suck air....loose enough that it doesn't crack the 30 year old plastic "nipple"

I had to look up my fuel lines and take the part numbers to NAPA. They were no help. They're rated for B20. I bought 2 spools of it. Each size. I can get you the part numbers later today. If I remember it is also rared for hydraulic lines.

Biodiesel will eat up some fuel lines. There is one out there rated for B100 fuel. I couldn't find it in stock anywhere. E10 and higher gasoline will rot your fuel lines from inside. Work with carbed engines use fuel injection lines and FI clamps.

The quick connects can be saved. They actually have Sharkbite fittings for fuel. I have a Sharkbite repair kit on my '97 Buick. Been holding for almost 2 years. If you can find a 3/8" repair fitting get it. Wish I didn't pull my factory lines. I could have used them except my dumbaZZed black lab pit mix chewed the crap out of them.
