dirty looking intake manifold

I had the intake crossover tube off the other day to adjust the vavles. It was coated pretty good with black almost carbon looking gunk. The intake manifold looks pretty grimmy too. Is that normal? I was thinking maybe there is a seal in the turbo going bad, letting oil build up in the intake?

It's crud coming through your K&N, or possibly just excess oil if you've been overly enthusiastic the the recharge kit.

Bought that silly filter before I read about how not-so-great they are. Guess its time for a BHAF.

It don't use oil, or smoke (other than black), but could that turbo be leaking? the intake from the filter to the turbo is spotless, just after the turbo it gets dirty.
