diesel auto trannys

diesel auto trannys

If I understand correctly, early diesels used a 518 tranny. Did gas engines use this tranny as well? If so, are the bellhousing patterns the same? And how would they compare to an A500 tranny? Thanks.

Im not positive but I recall reading the cummins uses a industrial bolt pattern that is not the same as a gasser.
Maybe someone can verify this for you.
