LOL!! That was the only other 1st gen at the track thus far. A nice younger fella. His is a '90 reg-cab/4x4 non-IC with what is described as something like flow-honed Ebay PODs. KSB unplugged, amazingly stopped-up stock air filter, burned-out limited slip, and stacks on an otherwise OEM exhaust. IP on the bleeding edge of run-away with stock timing. All else OEM. . . . .. poor turbo.

His runs Stupid-Hot with those injectors.

Haha! The guy at Dynomite Diesel said the EGT's for the DDP4's are easily controllable. Yup, just keep your skinny pedal off the floor.

You know they say the temperature of the typical bolt of lightening is hotter than the surface of the Sun. Well, these injectors don't run that hot but at the end of the track, it takes .. .. one thousand-one, one thousand-two, one thousand-three for the durn needle to get off 1500*F.

Aw Jeeeez!

Must get studs-n-Orings.

YES, you do!

I just haven't finished sorting what will be the most cost effective. Sending my home ported head off somewhere to be trued and O-ringed, or just buying a new O-ringed head and me home porting it and selling the OEM head.

And if I'm gonna go that far, it'd be a shame not to strongly consider all the available options of a cam while I'm in there.

12mm studs should keep it all together OK.

Everything thus far amounts to a foundation for bigger things to come.

Go with the o-ring head and re-port that one. You now what your doing now, you can make this porting job even better!!!!!!!

All thow this is true, I'm kinda kidding with ya.
I now how much time it take to port a head

All thow i haven't had to pull my head......... yet, to figure out what it would take, to port a diesel head right.

Flash.

My mess was drooling a little anti-freeze from that area of the head/block interface, right there at the thermostat housing today on the dyno. Not sure exactly where from and it's been doing it for a while now.

No matter what the final decision is about upgrades, I'm gonna have to take something apart in the very near future.

Technically, . . . . . . who knows?

A quick poll of those attending suggests 651hp and 320something torque.

While the system is a desirable FlowJet 248H, the owner/operators choose to store the computer and associated modules in the open environment. The end result is blown fuses and random error messages.
Further, the optical pick-up mount they choose to use does not accommodate a 1st gen truck with the cross-member right there under the engine's dampener.

That's really the best, nice, things I can say right now.

Suffice it to say that after paying quick shipping fees to get the injectors, rushing trying to tune the engine to accommodate the injectors, the usual rushing to get everything right . . . .

Watching everyone else make really good numbers, . . . .

Eating all that food, .. .. .

Getting on the rollers . . . .. making about five runs just to have the fella say "Hold on, something's not right", . . ..

The stupid machine broke (electronics).

I got no numbers.

Kinda hurt my feelings. What's worse is there was a guy from well up north who (Philly?) was after me and never got to get the 1200hp dodge off the trailer.

In my best Forrest Gump voice . . . . "That's all I have to say about that".

Had a great time seeing all those from last time and meeting all the new folks.

Well I finally got to make a pass on a quarter mile track with the DDP4's. Not too bad I guess. It is however "Officially" the fastest I've ever been in my heap.

14.16 @ 93.46 The eighth mile times are consistent with what I'd seen last at Dunn/Benson.

(The other fella broke his mess half way there. )

Needs more air.
