DDP 80hp injectors are in.

I ordered them monday and they came in this morning. It only took about an hour to put them in so that was easy. The idle dropped from 700 to maybe 300ish. It just chugged enough to keep running. I upped the idle to 900 because it just makes taking off a little easier.

On my first drive with them I was pretty please how rolling into the throttle in 3rd gear broke the tires loose.(posi). I ran it through 3rd gear and slammed it into 4th and both tires spun another 10-15 feet. Even in 5th gear I couldnt get the clutch to slip. Must be one tough stock clutch. lol

My new turbo should be here later this week or early next week. The stock H1C and 12cm housing seem to do ok. There is still smoke at WOT and boost bounces around 40psi because its blowing the WG open. (the wg isnt hooked up but the way its fluttering I'm sure its blowing open.) The turbo is now barking in 2nd gear half throttle driving so it wont last long.

Is it possible to set the WG on the 12cm housing to run a steady 38-40psi? I really dont like the bouncing around.

Oh yea, they are 4 hole injectors but they idle smoother and run cleaner around town than the stock ones did. I was pretty surprised how clear they run, that is untill you put your foot into it. Boost also comes in twice as fast as the stock injectors, so it haulls butt!!!! I am VERY pleased with how hard it pulls. Cant wait to line up against another Dmax or 3rd gen and show them how the old 12v's do it.

Also I hate how there are so few videos of 1st gens racing on youtube so I plan to put the wifes new digital video camera to good use.

You're making me ansty. Mine are going in tomorrow sometime, time depends on the size of the hangover...

Did you make any adjustments other than the idle speed?

No adjustmenst except idle speed. Everything else seems to work great. There is no smoke at all driving around town now and there was a little before.

If you get antsy go put them in, only special tool is a 15/16" deep socket. And the hour it took me to get mine in included a run to the auto parts for a 15/16" deep socket. lol

I gotta say too, it definatly pulls harder than my Dmax LBZ with the Bully Dog on Extreme(130hp/260tq). Of course its a much heavier truck.

You're still runnung the stock turbo right? What turbo did you order? Do you have any idea how these injectors compare to New Era 370's?

Why don't you just tighten the wastegate actuator rod all the way to full extension in the W/G closed position?

because then with the 12cm housing it would probibly try to run 45+psi, and the compressor would blow for sure.

'91, they are simular in power to the 370, maybe a little more, but they are alot cleaner running. For now I'm just goingto run the GDS 60mm, till I decide on either the Aurora 3000, 4000, or SPS 62/71/14. I'd rather spend $220 to get me by a few months till I can research these 3 options and be sure I pick the right one.

It's actually 24mm for the injector hold down nut, torque to 44ftlbs.

Be sure to tell me how the 60mm comp. wheel upgrade works out. If it doesn't get extremely hot, then I may do the same thing, until I can afford a bigger turbo.

It doesnt get extremely hot now, with the 60mm I'm sure it will stay in the safe range. With enough timing that is.

Get a manual boost controller off Ebay for the wastegate. The bouncing boost gauge is probably due to surging since you don't have a compressor with MWE slots.

The stock clutch will hold over 350 RWHP if you don't get it hot. It is a stout unit.
