Not quite......

There really should be a fuse in the lamp circuit on the radio.

I think internally the radio is using the lamp circuit to power the antenna. If it's a motor, that's a completely lame design. The radio shouldn't draw any more than 0.5 amps on the lighting circuit.

Temporary fix might be to put a relay and an auxiliary fuse in that circuit to the radio.

Antennas are a source of ground, in fact most pioneers need the antennae attached to even work. Sounds like somehow you have a electrified case in your radio.
