shorting out

I'm putting in my guages on a triple pillar mount. Had everything working before I permanently attached pillar to stock pillar cover. After I attached it I rechecked everything and noticed the illumination lighting on guages was no longer working as well as dash illumination. Checked factory fuse and found it blown. Put in another fuse and it blew immediately. I pulled the pillar back off and it looked like one of the guage terminal lead bent over and grounded on the guage. Fixed that and tried everything again with new fuse and nothing. Checked fuse block (#5) and no power. Any ideas???????? Hope I didn't short out something. ??? ??? ??? ??? ???<br>Tim
