Cutting out

I am having intermittent power loss at various throttle angles. Could my crappy fuel cutoff solenoid be causing this? I guess I should go ahead and gut the thing. My fuel filter has at least 8K on it, could that be it?

Could be either, along with the possibility that you have a bad connection at the shutoff solenoid.

Weve recently had 4 trucks/tractor with bad fuel filter and thats exactly what they did...my .02 is thats your problem. Try the cheapest fix first though.

I did both. I couldn't get the Fleetguard in town (Cummins didn't have it) so I had to use the Baldwin cross, which isn't as big. I gutted the fuel cutoff solenoid also. I'm going to try to rig a solenoid on the IP cutoff lever using a large capacitor that will hold it ling enough to kill the motor. I will try to put a lighter spring on the lever so I don't need too much juice to hold it....
