Cruise questions
I was thinking about using the cruise in my truck as a way to bump my idle when its cold out, but I don't know how the cruise works in the truck? I would assume its something mechanical, but how does it get a signal? Could you override the ECM and make it work with the buttons on the wheel, or would you need to use something like the switches in a FRTL? My truck has what looks like a high idle setup on it, but the soleniod is gone and so are the switches. I could go that route but I though it would be nicew to just be able to use the switches on the wheel. Can anyone help me out or has anyone done this?

You have to have signal from the speed sensor to get the cruise to work. The high idle with cruise buttons came along after the advent of electronic engine controls. Dodge didnt get them til '98.

So, if I figure out how much vacume is needed to have the truck run at we'll say 1000rpm's I should be able to set up some kind of lock and use the factory system to hold it there. Where is the servo or whatever its called located? I will look next time I am by my truck, but any more info would be appreciated.
