MY cruise control cable malfunctioned the other day. Right where the little metal tab is that you can remove and adjust the cable length in the bracket, something broke. (Good description huh.) Anyway has anybody ever changed a cable or had a similar problem and fixed it. I got it working with some gray stuff that fixes anything (that I don't like being on my truck). Just thought I would ask and see what somebody else thought.

 

Are you talking about the little clip that holds the adjuster in place? Kind of small and squarish? I put a piece of coat hanger bent around in Mom's; it fell out after about 6 years. I did it in mine, and it failed in a week.
