Crew Cab Stainless Moulding Help
Crew Cab Stainless Moulding Help
Well I was able to get my crew cab in my shop this weekend. I'll post a new thread and update with pictures.
My question that I need help with is the drip rail stainless mouldings.
I've tried to take them off at the junkyards before and they are a PIA. Has anyone had experience removing these mouldings without destroying them. I'd like to take them off and have them polished and so that all the old seamsealer in the drip rail area can be removed without damaging the mouldings.
Is there a readily available special moulding removal tool that anyone knows about.
I'll be checking with a few bodyshop friends I know to see if they can help with the tool and the removal process.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ron

Channel locks, cover the teeth with Duct tape, and go across the length of the molding in VERY SMALL increments. If you try to take them off all at once, the will curl up like curly fries. Peel them of from bottom to top, again, along the length in very small increments.
Try a church key also known as a bottle opener. The cheap ones you can bend them a lil to fit the moulding. And when your done you already have the correct tool in your hand for your favorite malted beverage.
