Crankshaft seal??

Looking into the parts needed to fixing the killer dowel pin on my 93. Called local Dodge dealer about the crankshaft seal. $48.00 was the price I was given. Called Cummins and got a price of $36.00
Are the seals the same
For me it will work out about the same in price since we don't have a local Cummins dealer here so they will have to ship the seal to me which means adding on shipping charges.
I also looked at the TST KDP Kit which is $48.00 plus freight...
Just weighting out my opions on which was to go...

The seal from your Dodge dealer will show up in a Cummins box. The $12 goes in the dealer's pocket.

Thanks! What about the timing cover gasket? Is it reuseable or is it better to get a new one?

Several people have reused with good results. A new one is not too expensive, though.

You will need a seal, most likely a wear sleeve, front cover gasket and your choice method of retaining the dowel pin.
