crank sensor
Hey guys, my alternator and AC went out at the same time! I finally figured out that it was my crank sensor. Apparently it got sucked into the fan and jerked the wires out flush with the sensor. My question is simple, can I bypass the sensor or will I have to replace it, and if so how much can I expect to spend? Thanks in advance for your time and help.

Yes, you can bypass the crank sensor. In fact, I had to do this for a few days until I could get an external voltage regulator like the earlier first gens ran. I eventually got a new sensor but left the regulator on for an emergency if needed. I think the regulator was about 12 bucks.
I have the directions and pictures that show how to hook up an external regulator at home on my laptop. I will post them for you tonight. Will also put them in the FAQ for future reference.

This is where you will need to tie into the alternator. Take the 2 small nuts off that hold the electrical box to the altenator and install your wires form the regulator to the posts. Dont worry, it doesnt matter what wire goes where on the altenator.
