A couple MORE coil spring / leveling questions

I have written before about my '92 being lower in front - I know Dodge 2wd's tend to be that way. I don't like the look. My front end is approximately 3" lower. Questions:

1. I have been told that Moog replacement springs will bring it back up to height. WHAT IS FACTORY HEIGHT? I don't want to spend an extra $140 to find out that I'm ALREADY AT factory height.

2. Moog replacement for mine is model 7226. These are listed as Heavy Duty. They also make a stronger one (7226s) which is Super Duty. What kind of difference will these make?

3. I know about the factory 1" spacers - do I need these also to get 2.5-3" in height?

I need help from someone who has lifted the front of their 1st Gen.

Thanks! Again!

Re:A couple MORE coil spring / leveling questions

Good Luck!
Find out what the rating on the Moogs are and I will see what my Manual calls for. I have not found a spring that will do the job and hold up in the long run. I've tried the 1 ton springs and they don't give a good return for the money - rougher ride and not a lot of height. Let me know how you make out.
Bob

Re:A couple MORE coil spring / leveling questions

I'm not comfortable with the spring outside the spring tower especially on the front end. I will wait for his report after he tries them. I did get a quote for a custom made spring that would add 1 to 1.5 inches of ride height and retain the same spring rate $300.00 each
Bob

Re:A couple MORE coil spring / leveling questions

I replaced my coil springs with 7226's when replacing the shocks. It had no effect whatever on the nose-down look of the truck.

Then I measured it again when I hooked up the 5er. Dead level fore-and-aft.

Seems if I raise the front, it would look silly when towing.

I'm going to leave it as is.

DBF
Re:A couple MORE coil spring / leveling questions

Thats wierd. When I replaced my springs with the Moog HD's, it raised the front end up a good 1".
